Rank & TestingUsing aikido techniques, our kids curriculum is entirely self defense oriented and tests are held at the beginning of an adult class using multiple adult attackers. Testing is done after a student has completed approximately 30 classes and approved by the instructor.
The youth ranking system starts at 10th kyu (pronounced "que") and goes to 7th kyu senior. Around age 13, all students begin the adult program and test into the United States Aikido Federation which starts at 6th kyu.
Summary of Rank ScheduleNo Rank - White Belt
10th Kyu - Yellow Belt
10th Kyu Senior - Orange Belt
9th Kyu - Purple Belt
9th Kyu Senior - Green Belt
8th Kyu - Blue Belt
8th Kyu Senior - Red Belt
7th Kyu - Brown Belt

Once a youth has completed this program, around 13 years old, they move to the adult program.
