Hi Everyone - There will be no classes on Sunday, July 4th. I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday. Gina Guest In Class Tonight 01/13/2010
Hi everyone, Just wanted to give you the heads up that we should (please note the word "should") have a visitor in class tonight. His name is Richard and he has been training for about 4-5 years up near Boston with Sharon Kanai Sensei at New England Aikikai (www.neaikikai.org). He's in Tampa attending a conference, and I tonight may be the only chance he'll get to train with us. No pressure to make it to class, I just wanted to give you all the heads up. New Years Schedule and a Change 12/28/2009
Hope everybody having a very happy and safe holiday! Here's the class schedule for New Years Eve and New Years Day: Thursday, December 31st - CLOSED Friday, January 1st - CLOSED Yup. That's right. No class. So, don't feel you have to worry about hung over ukemi. After some serious consideration (and then talking about it even more), I've decided to have Sunday classes start one hour later. So, as of January 3rd: 10:00 - 11:00a - aikido lite 11:00 - 12:00p - regular aikido If anybody has any questions, you know how to get a hold of me. Otherwise, see you in class! Holiday Hours 11/25/2009
We're coming up on the holidays (actually, Thanksgiving is just a day away so "coming up" might be an understatement) and many of you are probably wondering whether or when the dojo is going to be open. Well, I'm happy to announce that the dojo will be open as scheduled with two exceptions: Thursday, November 26th - CLOSED Friday, December 25th - CLOSED So, yes...we will be open on Black Friday, we will be open on Christmas Eve, and we will be open all through Hanukkah. Not sure yet about New Years Eve or New Years Day...stay tuned. Have a good Turkey Day. Be ready to ukemi off the pumpkin pie. Updates and Stuff for Sep 15th 09/15/2009
Hello everyone, i needed to send out a note to give all of you an update on...stuff... first, we have all been invited to a bbq this sunday - yayyyyy (we do bbq's well). it's being hosted by the dojo where meredith, barry, matt, etc. train. it's so incredibly generous for their sensei, Guy Hagan, to invite us so if you are free on Sunday, we will head there after class, please consider coming with us - the more the merrier. let me know if you'd like to go so we can coordinate bringing stuff or if you have any questions. second, some of you might not know, ryan's last day training with us was yesterday. he's taken a new job in Washington DC and he's on his way to a great opportunity (he couldn't tell us what it was or he'd have to kill us - ha ha ha). i'm hoping most of you had the chance to take his wednesday class or had the chance to work with him in regular class. third, because ryan is no longer here to teach the thursday iaido class, we are going to revert back to the old class schedule. starting today, all classes on mon., wed., thur., & fri. will begin at 6:30p - there will be no 5:45 class. the sunday classes are still at the same time. i know i've been changing the class schedule a lot lately, and i really do apologize for that, so i promise, this will be the last time for a long time it will change. again, starting today - ALL MON., WED., THUR., & FRI. CLASSES START AT 6:30p. last, the flu has been going around for several weeks now so if you are sick, please stay home and rest, eat well, drink plenty of fluids, and get better. i'm so incredibly proud of the commitment all of you give to your training and i appreciate it more than i probably say, so, if you're sick, please take all of the time you need to get better - and then come back to class. and that's about it....i really hope a bunch of you will be able to join us this sunday - it should be fun. |
