We are so excited to offer free aikido classes for everyone who needs sign language to communicate or is fluent in sign language.

Day:  Every Sunday, February 6, 2011 – August 31, 2011
Time:  12:15 - 1:30p
Where:  Florida Aikido Center
Age Range:  13 and up
What to wear:  No need to purchase anything.  Please wear sweatpants (something to cover your knees) and a t-shirt/sweatshirt

The purpose of this class is to help us bridge the gap and be able to teach aikido (communicating the lessons and the Japanese terms) using sign language.  There will be two aikido instructors for this class, Gina and Tomas Guerrero.

The goal is for us (and other current students) to learn sign language and to be able to reach out to the deaf community to teach them aikido.  Currently, Tomas and I know VERY little sign language – only enough to make one or two word sentences but, we are excited to learn and we sincerely want to help.  We are so excited to offer this class and it would be awesome if on February 6th, the school was filled with people excited about learning aikido and at the same time, eager to help us learn sign language.
